Certified to Give Birth!

Yes, we have finally completed our 12 week Bradley Method birth class, but we haven't graduated yet. We still need to actually give birth :) The class was very good though. 12 weeks seemed like forever when we first began, but we really learned so much and feel much more confident as laborer and coach. Besides a couple things, we really like the bradley method and are looking forward to using those techniques in the birth of our little baby.

If you know me very well, you know I have an answer and theory for everything and I am so excited to see how that plays out during birth and as we begin caring for a newborn. I will have to write a little "what I found to be true" blog about everything after the fact :)

BP update: Well, I have seen Nancy twice since the last post and both time we of course checked my blood pressure to see if it improved. Both times it was high initially, but after laying on my side for 10 minutes it goes down to a normal BP. Nancy is not too thrilled about it being high and encourages me to keep resting, especially on my left side. The baby seems to be doing great though. Great heart rate, position, movement, etc.

Otherwise I am still about 1 cm dilated, which is no more than almost two weeks ago. So, it is simply not time...yet. I haven't been experiencing many BH contractions, until today. Adam made me laugh so hard that I think that triggered some contractions. Nothing to get excited about though.

While I am here I will just keep going on little updates. My stretch marks, though not terrible have recently started getting itchy and worse. I thought I might escape stretch marks like my momma did, but I guess not. Anyway, I wanted to say that I put some of my Burt's Bees coconut foot creme on my stretch marks last night and that seemed to really help. It has lots of great moisturizing ingredients that are not only intended for the feet.

Ok, that's all for now. Maybe next time I write I will have had the baby. Only God knows and I am ok with that!
