Don't Cry for me...

Because this week my baby is the size of an onion! Growing much bigger by the day!

Monday we went to Nancy, our midwife, and had our monthly check up. Good news to report! I only gained one pound. That means I am getting more on target for what is a healthier weight for this time in my pregnancy. I am feeling better too!

We also heard the heart beat...the very fast, but normal heart rate (170). Every thing is on target and in a few weeks I will be getting my big ultra sound. This is where the check everything out. The brain, heart, spine, fluids, etc. I am very excited about that.

My baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, the umbilical cord it growing stronger and thicker, he/she can move hers/his joints & the sweat glands are working now. The baby is somewhere around 5-7 inches & 5-7 ounces.

As for me, my tummy is getting bigger every day. I am starting to get tad off balance from the extra weight in front. And supposedly my memory is getting even worse, according to the experts :)

Well, that is about all I can report.

ps. One complaint to report. Apparently, the state requires that everyone be informed of an optional blood test. The one where they check if your baby has down syndrome, etc. Well, my midwife said the 1/4 of the time they say yes there is something wrong (even thought there may not be). The next step is then to have another test, which has a 1% chance of losing the baby. What is the point of that unless to abort the baby. Justice belongs to God for those who choose to abort their babies because of an abnormality. I can't believe there is even an option for abortion, let alone the option to abort an abnormal baby. I can't believe that I am required to sign a form that I am declining the test. It just makes you feel bad even having that as an option.

Onions are great - layered and interesting, healthy to eat and can be sweet. Which is what you are dear daughter - sweet! It is fun watching your tummy grow and know there is a sweet little baby inside. You are a treasure to me! mom

I am praying for you and the baby :-)

And Suzanne and I came to the same conclusion when asked about the test years ago. When they asked us I said, "if the test is positive, what can be done for the baby." The answer, "nothing." Just something then to cause fear in people and protect the doctors from potential lawsuits.

I never had to sign anything and so that must be even new since Will. I don't know??

When is the ultra sound? I can't wait to find out what you are having. So you feel any slight movements yet?

actually, maybe you are waiting to find out, I can't remember. Both are so fun so whatever you do will be awesome.
